The Advantages of Walk Through Videos Compared to Virtual Tours

The mode for buying and selling houses has certainly been enhanced with the use of technology. However, some methods are better than others. Many that are tech savvy as real estate agents believe that there is far more success with walk-through videos compared to virtual tours, and no they are not both the same.

Unfortunately they are comprised of a panoramic view which can be absolutely distracting to the viewer. There is too much work needed by the user. Those that are interested in looking at homes in the virtual realm want to do just that. They want to be able to sit back and focus on what is of interest to them in regards to what they are viewing. They don’t want to have to be concentrating on how to get to the next view.

Walk-through videos are simply user friendly. They depict the best realism of the subject matter being videoed. These presentations are or should be comprised by professionals who are in essence film-makers who know the do’s and don’ts when it come to producing a realistic showing.

Streaming videos is the “in thing” and is what most are familiar with. They often dabble in this on the social media platforms.

Another big advantage to videos over virtual tours is that they are more cost effective, even when it comes to the equipment requirements. A virtual tour camera is not cheap, and using it is time consuming. Just to capture one room with a virtual presentation it can take over one half hour. For those that know how to shoot a video the entire average home can be captured and impressively present in about 45 minutes.

Aerial footage is far more impressive in video then in virtual tours.

Real estate agents have no choice but to capitalise on all the available technology that is available to them. If they don’t then they are not going to be on par with their competitors. It is no longer just a matter of who has the best sales skills. With the internet a lot of first impressions are made before a buyer or seller even contacts an agent. The agent who makes the right choices in the presentation of their property listings is going to be ahead in the sales department. This means having to choose between virtual tours and videos. Each comes with a learning curve, but obviously making the right choice as to which is going to be producing the best results will be the priority.
