Moving Forward 50 Years in the World of Real Estate

Image of a 3d printer printing a houseEverything in life changes and we certainly wouldn’t want it to be any different as it would be quite boring. It is intriguing to look forward into the future to see what the world of real estate will be like.

One thing that will no longer be present is the weekend open houses. Home sellers will no longer be spending their precious weekends getting their house in order for a showing. Instead viewings will be comprised of virtual encounters. If this sounds too far fetched all one has to look at is the technology behind the Oculus Rift. This is a virtual reality headset. Or take a look at Google Glass. These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to virtual viewing technology. There will come a time when glasses will be presenting 3D displays with no effort at all.

The way that real estate agents go about their business now will be a thing of the past. The buyers and sellers will be in the forefront of all the work that is needed for their property. The agents will be there to assist clients in the downloading of their home images to the appropriate platforms, and all this will occur before any contract is signed or any deal is done.

Agents will be working out of warehouses that are virtually present. The business of buying and selling homes will take up its rightful place in cyberspace.

When it comes to money transactions there will be no third parties like financial institutions. The money too will be virtual just like bitcoins is paving the way to the future. Financial transactions will take place in the matter of minutes, and there will no longer be long closings waiting for transactions to complete.

How about the new home builder who anticipates months of waiting through the build process. A thing of the past as 3D printed houses will be the norm to build a home within 24 hours. The tradesmen will be mechanical in the form of robots. No coffee breaks here or work to rule issues.

All one has to do is think as an agent as to the amount of hours and labor that go into the buying and selling process in the real estate industry. Focusing on the negative aspects and the time eaters of this process will be eliminated. Once you visualise this concept then you truly can begin to form a picture in your mind as to what the real estate industry will be like 50 years from now. If you are still in doubt, then take a walk back in history and see how much the industry has changed from 50 years ago, and back then many surely said it couldn’t be done.
