Real Estate Trends: Pets Are A Priority For New Home Owners

Take for instance pets. Recent studies have shown that new homeowners or homebuyers prefer pet-friendly properties. No less than 95% of pet owners make it a point to find homes where their beloved pets can live comfortably and conveniently with them.

Furthermore, around 68% of pet owners are adamant in passing up no less than a perfect home if it will not suit their pet’s needs, coming from respondents aged 35 to 54 who belong to the age group who subscribe to the idea.

Another survey also showed how pets could influence a home buyer’s decision to purchase a property, of which 43% stated they are willing to move to a property that could better accommodate their cherished pets even while they are already settled in an existing home and find their residence not accordingly suitable for their pets.

Among the key points raised by these pet-loving homeowners are their preferences for a property with spacious yards and outdoor living areas. Also included among the preferences are dog runs, garages, proximity to outdoor spaces, and large home interior space to accommodate their pets.

It is no surprise that new-age homeowners have made their pets a part of their family unit and find them important in making their house a home.

The survey also revealed that dogs rank the top most popular, followed by cats. Other pets that rank the list are birds by 89% of owners, fish- 85%, reptiles- 80%, rodents- 79% and horses- 74%. All these animals have been identified as a factor in a homeowner’s decision-making process.
